Nearly three quarters of what goes going into landfills is material that could be reused, recycled or composted. Meanwhile, schools are underfunded and struggle to provide students with basic necessities and supplies.
The Welman Project teaches children the value of repurposing and provides classrooms with important resources in an eco-friendly, sustainable manner. By collecting surplus materials from local businesses and distributing them to educators free of charge, The Welman Project has been able to rescue 150 dumpsters worth of materials and benefit over 40,000 students.
