Overview of Summit

The Summit team is composed of producers, community builders, engineers, writers, and operators all with a sharp eye for experiential design and human connection. At Summit, you’ll create and support a product that enables a global community of leaders to develop meaningful relationships around dynamic shared experiences. Role: 

As a Director of Sponsorships and Partnerships, you’ll be responsible for growing the relationships with the corporations that are interested in reaching the Summit community and supporting the objectives of the company.  You’ll work directly with the founders and CEO of Summit on creating an inventory of partnership opportunities that support Summit’s core mission of building communities of thought leaders through shared experiences. You’ll be responsible for the internal and external strategy on how Summit develops alliances and opportunities with our high-impact partners.  

Responsibilities

  • Develop Inventory: Work with the marketing, programming and production teams to create lists of offerings that can be integrated into Summit’s existing event framework and can be customized to different partnership opportunities.

  • Inform the Framework of Content and Production: Work with the content and production departments to shape the face of the event and integrating different partnership activations into the framework of all 2020 events.

  • Identify Partners: Identify partners whose missions align with that of Summit and lead strategy and outreach for involving those partners in Summits’ existing events and new initiatives.  Be mindful of the time of the year that agencies and institutional partners set their marketing budgets.

  • Create Activations and Products: Brainstorm creative activation opportunities (from Summit scholarships to virtual reality tours of developing nations) and create new assets to sell.

  • Innovate: Be a part of creating all offerings outside of Summit’s flagship event including local gatherings, newsletters, international excursions for partners who want year round engagement with the Summit community.

  • Lead the Execution: Lead a team of Summit staff to manage and execute all partnership activations.

  • Leverage the Summit Brand: Use the good will Summit has built among thousands of individuals and organizations to bolster all partnership efforts.

Qualifications

  • Proven record of sales and closing business in an event-based model and familiarity with smaller scale influencer event models

  • Experience with building inventory and growing a book of business

  • Five years of sponsorship and partnerships sales experience

  • Past experience working with B2B brands, B2C brands and experiential agencies

  • Comfort in developing and selling creative, abstract ideas to senior executives

  • Highly organized, confident self-starter with professional demeanor and strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
