Freelance Web Designer

Overview:

The Summit team is composed of producers, community builders, engineers, writers, and operators all with a sharp eye for experiential design and human connection. At Summit, you’ll create and support a product that enables a global community of leaders to develop meaningful relationships around dynamic shared experiences. Each team member values each other’s success as much as their own – we value reciprocity, growth, and fun.

Role:

We're looking for a designer to pick up where our outgoing designer relationship left off. Our previous part time designer is transitioning to full time employment elsewhere and can no longer maintain the workload we have. We've typically provided between 30-100 hours of work/month to our current contractor, averaging around 50.

Who we are: We're an events company - we have a number of large events yearly for thought leaders across many disciplines from business to philanthropy, art and music. Check us out at https://summit.co

What you'll be working on:

We have a number of websites and a mobile events app which we're constantly iterating on and building out new features for. We have sporadic needs for print assets for our events on the ground or for presentational purposes etc. We already have a lot of established styles across our web and mobile assets, so a lot of the web and mobile design will be adapting these established styles to new use cases, or updating/ facelifting older designs as they get stale. That being said we definitely always want to improve everything and want you to bring your ideas and creativity to bear to take our design to the next level.

Some of the most important qualities you should have are:

  • UI/UX type design experience and eye (please include examples)

  • Marketing type page design experience (please include examples)

  • Understanding of and experience with design for mobiles apps (please include examples)

  • Ability and openness to listen to feedback and use it to iterate on design mocks

  • Willingness to work with multiple points of contacts for different design initiatives across the organization

  • Ability and openness to listen to feedback and use it to iterate on design mocks

  • Highly available to hold scheduled meetings for feedback or to discuss new initiatives

  • We do use InVision currently (which I believe is built out through Sketch) - so we would definitely prefer someone who has this skillset

Please apply with relevant examples, and include a bit about your professional experience, goals and your availability
